Windsor Locks High School

To get to our meetings at The Windsor Locks High School;

From Main Street: (Rt-159) go up Elm Street (west, the new Walgreen's is on the corner) and go about a mile to South Elm Street. Turn left (south) down South Elm Street. About 1/4 mile up on the left (at the crest of a rise) just past the church, is the entrance to the High School. Follow the driveway to the front of the high school. Visitor parking is located near the flagpole on the center lawn. We will be just inside the front door where there are tables and a stage. Go in the front door any Wednesday by 6:30pm and you will find us.

From the airport area-Ella Grasso Turnpike: (Rt-75) Turn down Elm Street (Eastward, Dunkin Donuts is on the corner) and go about a mile to South Elm Street. Then Turn right (south) down South Elm Street. About 1/4 mile up on the left (at the crest of a rise) just past the church, is the entrance to the High School. Camp Osziewski

To get to Camp Osziewski;

From Main Street: (Rt-159)
1. Get on I-91 south and take the first exit onto Rt-20 west.
2. Dont go into the airport, Take the exit for Rt-20 and continue straight. 3.4 mi
3. Turn right at Newgate Rd and go about 1.3 miles (newgate prison is on the left)
4. Find Coppergate road on the right. Go in and drive to the end. At the cul de sac, there is a dirt road into the woods. The gate should be open while we are camping.

From the airport area-Ella Grasso Turnpike: (Rt-75)
1. Turn onto Rt-20 West toward Bradley International Airport 0.8 mi
2. Dont go into the airport, Take the exit for Rt-20 and continue straight. 3.4 mi
3. Turn right at Newgate Rd and go about 1.3 miles (newgate prison is on the left)
4. Find Coppergate road on the right. Go in and drive to the end. At the cul de sac, there is a dirt road into the woods. The gate should be open while we are camping.



Oil City

To get to Oil City;

From Main Street: (Rt-159)
1. Go south toward Windsor.
2. Get on I-91 south and take the first exit onto Rt-20 west.
3. Go about 2 miles to the Rt-75 exit (Poquonock Ave.)
4. Turn left off the exit (south) and Go 1.6 miles to Prospect Hill Road.
5. Turn right and Go 1.1 miles up Prospect Hill Rd to a rotary at the end.
6. In the rotary, take the first right on Lang Road.
7. Go about a half mile on Lang rd and you will see the huge parking lot on the left for Northwest Park. This is where you park.
8. The Oil City Camping Area is actually behind Northwest Park along the Farmington River. It's about 3/4 of a mile hike from the cars.

From the airport area-Ella Grasso Turnpike: (Rt-75)
1. Go south toward Windsor.
2. After you cross Rt-20, go 1.6 miles to Prospect Hill Road.

Bissel's Ferry

To get to Bissell Ferry;

From Main Street: (Rt-159)
1. Go south on Rt-159 toward Windsor.
2. Once you make the left turn onto Palisado ave (from Main Street) it is exactly 3.2 miles to the entrance road. You will see a 2 feet square white sign on the left side of Palisado ave.
4. The dirt road runs between two houses and down a hill in the back.
5. Go all the way to the end of the road. It stops at the river, this is our campsite.
6. The road may be muddy or wet but is usually passable for most cars.
